Matt Searing, golf, in The Franklin News Post, 8/29/2008, DANVILLE (VA) (story dated 8/27/08)– Franklin County’s golf team posted its best total score to date Monday en route to a second-place finish in Western Valley District second regular-season match at Danville Country Club…….Matt Searing paced the Eagles with a 6-over-par 76….

Aug 1, 2008, the Kansas City Star web site featured a picture of Jim Searing cooling off while working on his mother’s  chimney
